What is a product?

 

"Product" is the ”goods or services” created by the human labor force. The physical product is created by adding human labor (efforts to make an item) to natural resources (substances in nature).

Products = Goods& Services

 

Products can be divided into the "goods" and "services" from the presence or absence of shapes.
Tangible products are called "goods". Goods are items that can be used for human life. For example, there are household appliances, household goods, groceries, clothes, miscellaneous goods and so on.
On the other hand, the product of intangible is called "services". Services are activities provided by other people to be useful for human life. For example, there are transportation, communication, medical treatment, education and so on.

Synonym for "Product"

 

The term "Product" has synonyms such as "Final product", "Goods & Services", "Commodities" and the like.
"Final product" is an expression used when distinguishing it from "Intermediate product".
For example, when we say "total product of one country", we can not distinguish between the total output (Intermediate product + Final product) and GDP (Final product only).
"Goods & Services" is a phrase used to distinguish whether a product is tangible or intangible. "Goods" is a tangible item, "Services" (utility) is an intangible item.
"Commodities" means that the product is private property to be distributed in the market. In the market, goods and money are exchanged.
